Adventures in Shopping....

From the title of this post I am sure you can guess what I am going to talk about. Yup, Mark and I went shopping together for the first time as husband and wife. Actually, the first time we have ever went shopping for more than just a few items.

So before I start, let me ask first this question...is it the "norm" for women to take more time in shopping and comparing items than men? Cause it seems like that is the case, not sure about you, but at least that is the case in my experience. When asked their opinion the answer that seems to be returned is "I don't care...it's food." Sigh...please tell me I am not alone in this?!?

Despite the differences in shopping style and technique (is there really a style or technique in grocery shopping? If so, why isn't it considered a sport...dang it, I want a gold medal!!!) we actually did accomplish a lot in that short trip at Super Target. **Note: If it wasn't for the multitude of Target gift cards that we got (and we really appreciated them) we would not have shopped there. Wow, the price on some things was ridiculous. Needless to say I won't do the bulk of my shopping there...LOL.

I do have to say that I am getting better at navigating the city in small quadrants. Mark is still making me drive most anywhere we have gone which I guess is a good thing that way I know somewhat where I am going. Although, against my beliefs I finally had Mark install a navigation system on my phone. I hate those things but I guess it is a necessary evil until I get to know the place. Still not feeling the whole grid thing...any tips or tricks in figuring that out?

Welcome to Utah...

It is crazy that Mark and I have been married for about 5 days now...crazy how time flies. The wedding was absolutely wonderful, the sealer at the temple did a beautiful job (I even cried) and the ceremony itself was just indescribable.  Hopefully we will be posting pictures soon...I know there are a ton on Facebook already but I hope to soon have some on here for you guys as well. We were so lucky to have so many wonderful friends and family there to share in the magic. Thanks again for all you did!

Yes, you are reading that sign right. It says Welcome to Utah! and on the other side of the road is the one that says Welcome to Idaho! I am sure you probably can guess which one I would rather see BUT a new adventure is starting not only for me but for Mark as well. So many things are starting to happen for us here (like the possibility of getting out of his current small box of an apartment) to a larger 2 bedroom apartment for right around the same amount! We are both feeling really good about the thought of that.

Last night was my first night staying at Mark's place and oh my word...Redwood Road is a noisy road indeed. I have never heard this much traffic in my life in my own home. I mean when I was living in Poky we lived just off one of the smaller main roads and I all I could really hear was the trains and the sirens...so I am sure I will get use to the traffic at some point in time (I hope). Not to mention all the people that don't seem to sleep at night in the apartment complex where we live...but we will survive, well I will survive, Mark is already adjusted to the noise level. LOL.

Not sure what the next few days hold before Mark goes back to work on Saturday...I think part of that time will be getting me use to the cities and the stupid grid system that they have down here for the streets. Either way it should make for a real adventure, but isn't that what life is all about? Making memories as we go on through life? I think so...so with that let the adventures begin!

It's Almost Here!!!

Literally the day is pretty much upon us all...and I have to say my stress level has pretty much gone through the roof (although I can't speak for Mark but I am guessing that his stress level has gone up a bit too). There has been sooo much going on lately that I just had to stop and take a break and just relax for a bit before this happens:
which may or may not have already happened..."I didn't do it, Nobody saw me do it, You can't prove a thing!" LOL

Between packing and getting last minute wedding stuff organized and put together I am pretty sure I could give Godzilla a run for his money in Tokyo...but as crazy as this has been for us, we are still super excited for it  to be happening. We have heard from so many of our family and friends congratulating us and sending best wishes that we have truly been blessed. It means the world to us that you all want to share in our happiness.

Either comment or email me at hysteria2483@gmail.com and include the link! Then we will post it in our Family and Friends Tab!

It's Getting Closer!

What a whirl the last few days have been. CRAZY!...but in a good way. Mark came up for the day and together we accomplished a lot of wedding details that had to be done. For example, we went and applied for a wedding license...so off we went to the court house.

Bannock County Court House...I hate walking into this place because I hate to have to go through security. Mark only had to walk through once compared to my two times. I guess that is what I get for carrying keys and a cell phone (I was expecting an important phone call)...needless to say I try very hard to avoid this place and places like this for that very reason!
No, your eyes are not deceiving you. The writing on the door is back words because I took the picture while we were waiting for one of the clerks to process our paper work. We felt so bad for this poor girl. She had been slaving over a rather tall stack of divorce papers and I don't know if it was the joy of being able to take a break from that duty by helping us that caused the problems she was having.
First off, Mark and I had to fill out the papers with all of our information (they sure are nosy...LOL) about who we are, where are we from, where were we born, etc.,etc., etc.. We finally filled out our sheets (yes they were SOOO long...OK OK they were only a half a page) we handed them over to this gal and she entered it in the computer. However, before she had a chance to print our the proof reading copies of the license, she had accidentally deleted all of our information!
After the second time round, she printed the copies out for us to go over and we found that I was born in PITTSBURG, Idaho. Hmm...I have lived in Idaho all my life and I don't ever recall there being town here by that name! LOL...so she had to go back in and correct it to Pocatello. After the second proof copy was handed to us it was finally right. So then she printed off the real copies only to find out that she forgotten to certify the one that needs to go back to the court house (joy I get to go through security again!).
As you can see, we finally got the marriage license and all is right in the world again! I have to say as nervous as this little piece of paper has made me, I am excited to have it in my possession. In just 16 days this will be the binding paperwork for Mark and I to be married and then sealed for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Getting that task completed, we both agreed, just felt right. Yet that was not the end of our adventures. I think we went to a few different stores after that trying to get some misc. items that was still needed for the wedding. I am proud to announce that as far as I know, unless something unexpected comes up. We have everything we are going to need for the ring ceremony and reception/open house. Now all there is left to do is to put them together! Which will go by quick. I think the only time consuming task left is a minor food item which is easy to do just fairly time consuming but those will take place next week so they are fresh.

Once we completed our errands, we spent an hour or so sorting out  boxes in my storage unit. We did find what we were looking for which was a plus. We will be able to eat since I found some pots and pans and dishware. So I guess that means we will be eating! *Grins* While we were there we were able to grab some of the boxes that I had there so I can start to pack up my belongings. I have to admit, it is a bit bittersweet for me. I am sad to be leaving the home that I grew up in and the home that became my foundation when I returned home and at the same time I am excited!

Oh!, speaking of excitement. You know how I told you earlier that I had to take my cell phone with me to the court house? Well, the call that I was waiting for was from the financial aid rep at UCMT to let me know that I had been cleared to receive aid to help pay for school. I was so excited!
This was the packet that came via FedEx from the Utah College of Massage Therapy (UCMT). There was lots of forms to sign and return but hey, it was worth it knowing that my schooling is completely paid for and that is including fees, books, tools, etc. Oh and the good news is, I will have some left over to spend however I want. Yup, $0.92 is my cash refund. I guess I should be careful that Mark and I don't spend it all in one place.

Yup this will be my future home for my education starting October 8th!  The good thing about going to school at this campus is that it is just about a half block or so from temple square and just up the street and around the corner from where Mark works! Can we say perhaps lunch dates??!? Maybe?? LOL!
Well that is all that has been going on so far in our little journey. Stick around because I am sure that there will be more crazy adventures in store for us, especially during the next few weeks! Stay tuned!
